RECIPE INFO:

PREP TIME: 15 Minutes COOK TIME: 10 Minutes SERVES: 4 Guests

WE RECOMMEND:

B&B Hardwood Lump Charcoal B&B Texas Style Original BBQ Sauce

INGREDIENTS:

4 salmon fillets, 6-8 ounces in size 2 tablespoons canola oil 2 shallots, finely chopped 1 cup B&B Texas Style Original BBQ Sauce ¼ cup Hoisin sauce 2 tablespoons honey 1 teaspoon soy sauce 1 teaspoon fish sauce 2 tablespoons black or white sesame seeds, toasted 2 tablespoons green onion, minced

DIRECTIONS:

Add canola oil and shallots to a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook until softened. Pour in B&B Texas Style Original BBQ Sauce, Hoisin sauce, honey, soy sauce, fish sauce and toasted sesame seeds. Stir sauce occasionally as it cooks for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, and season with salt and pepper to your liking. Preheat B&B Hardwood Lump Charcoal. Once glowing, distribute evenly onto grate. Brush salmon steaks on both sides with canola oil, then season with salt and pepper to taste. With the grill grate placed close to the coals for high heat, add the salmon and grill on both sides, brushing with the Hoisin BBQ sauce as they cook, every minute or so. Cook until golden brown and slightly charred. Remove from grill and brush on remaining sauce. Plate the beautifully glazed salmon steaks, and garnish with minced green onion. Now that’s umami.
