INGREDIENTS:
1 lb fresh, haricot vert, (French green beans), stems removed 6 slices bacon, cut in half ¼ cup olive oil Salt & pepper to taste ½ cup B&B Texas Style Mesquite Smoke BBQ Sauce ¼ cup dark brown sugar, packed 1 Tbsp red pepper flake 1 Tbsp fresh garlic, minced 12 wooden toothpicks, soaked
DIRECTIONS:
Light B&B Texas Style Mesquite Grill Wood. Once glowing, allow grill to reach medium heat (350° to 450°F). In a large stockpot, bring water to a rolling boil. Carefully add the beans to the boiling water. Cook for 2 minutes, then drain. Immediately transfer the drained beans to a large bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Once cooled, drain the beans and pat dry using paper towels. Gently toss the green beans in olive oil, salt and pepper. Once coated, wrap 5-6 beans with a half slice of bacon, creating a bundle. Place bundles seam side down onto a baking sheet. Continue this process until you have made 12 bundles. Secure each bundle with a pre-soaked wooden toothpick. Set aside. For the glaze, whisk together B&B Texas Style Mesquite Smoke BBQ Sauce, dark brown sugar, red pepper flake, and minced garlic in a heavy, grill-proof saucepan. Place to the back of the grill over medium heat, stirring occasionally until sugar has melted. Place bacon-wrapped bean bundles onto the grill, again, over medium heat. Grill the bundles for approximately 10-15 minutes, turning them frequently and basting with the BBQ glaze as you turn. Remove from heat when bacon begins to char at the edges. Serve 2 warm bundles per guest.
